THE View’s fate has been revealed after fans called for the long-running talk show to get canceled due to the hosts’ unpopular opinions.
Fans have expressed their outrage on social media about the direction the ABC series has taken, but the network has assured the show will continue, The U.S. Sun can exclusively reveal.

After the abundance of backlash aimed at the hosts – Whoopi Goldberg, 68; Sara Haines, 46; Joy Behar, 81; Sunny Hostin, 55; Ana Navarro, 52, and Alyssa Farah Griffin, 35 – about their controversial thoughts on the current political climate, ABC cleared the air on rumors that The View would not return.
“This is not true,” a representative from ABC told The U.S. Sun about the chatter that the show is getting axed from their daytime TV lineup.
“The View will return for season 28 in September,” they added.
ABC also noted that viewership has been off the charts despite reports of its roller-coaster ratings.
“The View is not only the number one most-watched daytime talk show for the fourth consecutive year, but it has grown its overall viewership to a 3-year high,” the network stated.
‘IT IS DISGUSTING!’
The hosts are gearing up for their annual month-long break from the panel, which typically occurs from early August until Labor Day.
Fans pleaded with ABC to put The View on a permanent hiatus after viewers scrutinized Whoopi and Joy’s “disrespectful” comments in a recent episode about former President Donald Trump and his family.
“The women on the view are horrible. They lead the pact for that type of behavior,” one fan wrote on X.
“@ABCnetwork cancel The View. It is disgusting!!!” another begged.
“@Disney for real, cancel The View,” a third echoed.
“They are so comfortable in their echo chamber that they are unaware of how offensive they are. They are cognitively unable to respectfully hear a different opinion. I don’t know one person who watches The View. Who is paying to keep them on air?” a fourth complained.
The View has been on the air since August 1997, when its creator, Barbara Walters, was on the panel.
Whoopi and Joy were hosts from the show’s start, but each stepped away, only to return to their posts years later.
In September 2023, moderator Whoopi and her co-hosts were slammed by fans, who claimed they planned an uncomfortable exchange on air to boost ratings.
The View hosts
The View is an American talk show airing on ABC from 11am-12pm EST, Monday through Friday. It features a diverse group of women that discuss the day’s “Hot Topics”, ranging from hard-hitting news to celebrity gossip. The six co-hosts include:
Whoopi Goldberg
Joy Behar
Sunny Hostin
Sara Haines
Ana Navarro
Alyssa Farah Griffin
The viral moment was led by Whoopi, who abruptly halted a heated conversation to ask Alyssa if she was pregnant.
Alyssa potentially starting a family was a previous topic on the program that fans think sparked the cast’s interest in reigniting the conversation to attract viewership.
The former White House Director of Strategic Communications acted shocked by her co-host’s outburst, which Whoopi said she asked because she “had a vibe.”
However, fans weren’t buying the entire scene and accused the panel of planning the whole thing.
NOT DONE YET
Rumors previously circulated that Whoopi and Joy would soon call it quits and retire from the show.
They both have assured fans that they have no plans to walk away anytime soon, but the veteran hosts’ schedules have been modified, with Whoopi taking Fridays off and Joy Mondays.
It has also been reported that Whoopi signed a deal in September 2021 to stay on the show through Season 28.
Joy signed a similar agreement, extending her tenure through Season 28.
