Kansas City Chiefs fans convinced Andy Reid used special tactic against Bills to ‘not show hand’ and ‘purposely’ lose

Kansas City lost their first game of the season Sunday in Buffalo

KANSAS City Chiefs fans are convinced Andy Reid used a special tactic against the Buffalo Bills.

And they reckon it was so the reigning Super Bowl champions didn’t show their hand to a potential playoff rival.

The Chiefs were beaten 30-21 by the Buffalo Bills at Highmark Stadium in Orchard Park, New York.

The loss ended Kansas City’s 15-game winning streak dating back to last December.

After the game, Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen seemed to make plans to “do it again”.

And both teams seemed to hint that they would likely face off in the playoffs in January.

That led Chiefs fans to claim that Reid was not showing the full depth of his play sheet.

Travis Kelce had just two catches for eight yards.

And newly-signed wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins caught three of his four targets for 29 yards.

One fan said, “Listen up everyone including Bills fans.

“Andy Reid doesn’t show his hand when it comes to anything in the regular season.

“They barely used Hopkins, they really didn’t try with Kelce either.

“Why people can’t pick up on this still blows my mind.”

And another agreed with the assessment of Kansas City’s performance.

“Is it possible the Chiefs are purposely trying to keep Hopkins snaps below the 60% threshold?” the fan asked.

“It doesn’t make sense to me for Hopkins to play 47% of the snaps in a game of that magnitude.

“He was 3rd in the wide receiver room in snaps.”

Buffalo won their fourth straight regular-season game against the Chiefs dating back to October 2021.

But in that same period, the Chiefs have beaten them twice in the playoffs.

Reid urged his team to learn from Sunday’s loss as they chase an unprecedented third straight Super Bowl.

“The margin between winning and losing is small and that starts with me,” Reid said.

“It’s a great game to learn from for some of our young guys.

“The main thing is they’re a good team and if you have mistakes they get capitalized on.

“We have got to learn from it and take something out of it to make us better down the road.”
