BREAKING: Chiefs Reveal They’re Considering A Move Away From Kansas City

The Kansas City Chiefs have admitted that a departure from said city is a possibility.

KC will vote on whether it wants to keep its reigning sales tax bill or replace it with another on April 2. The decision could greatly impact the Chiefs, as well as the city’s MLB team, the Royals.

The Chiefs are looking to make significant renovations on Arrowhead Stadium, which is expected to cost $800 million.

Should residents revoke the current tax bill, the team would remain in the city throughout its duration. If it remains as is, there is a possibility of an exit as president Kark Donovan has admitted the team will look at all options.

“I just know that for us, the Chiefs, we have to look at all of our options,” he told KSHB-TV.

Donovan insists the Chiefs are keen on remaining in Kansas City, however.

“Our goal here is we want to stay here,” he added. “And we’re willing to accept a deal, which is actually better for the country, to stay here.”

It’s hard to imagine the Chiefs leaving the city amid one of the greatest periods in franchise history. The team just won a second successive Super Bowl and will chase an unprecedented threepeat in 2024.

Still, things could get pretty interesting with the vote now less than a month away.
