Caitlyn Clark has drawn some criticism from fans online after attempting to create an iconic Kobe Bryant moment.
The Iowa Hawkeyes star won her third consecutive Big Ten Tournament on Sunday night as she helped her team come from behind to beat Nebraska in a game that needed overtime to decide its result.
She took some championship photos after securing the conference silverware, copying Bryant’s famous NBA Finals snap.
Fans Aren’t Feeling The Caitlyn Clark Recreation
Fans have slammed this as they reckon a conference championship doesn’t warrant such, though it was the Iowa star’s third straight.
“I don’t wanna sound like a hater but…I feel like you gotta do more than win a conference title against unranked Nebraska to do recreate this pic,” one fan wrote.

Meanwhile, Caitlyn is headed to the WNBA, having opted to forego her final year of eligibility in college to declare for the draft.
She will hope to add a National Championship to her CV before leaving the NCAA, having lost the final to the LSU Tigers last year.
If she does happen to win the Natty this time around, she probably wouldn’t be able to repeat the Kobe moment as it would really be cringeworthy to do it twice.

Caitlin Clark, a standout player for the Indiana Fever, and Angel Reese, the forward for the Chicago Sky, have been rivals since their college careers. Their intense rivalry has captivated basketball enthusiasts. They debuted their WNBA this season, and this rivalry continued into their professional careers.
As Analysts, fans, and players debate over who should earn the Rookie of the Year award, Reese abruptly ended the conversation with a shocking declaration. In a recent interview, the former LSU athlete stated that she doesn’t care about winning Rookie of the Year and believes that Clark feels the same way. Reese, recently criticized by WNBA fans after announcing her podcast, mentioned that the media has blown it out of proportion.
“We don’t either care about the Rookie of the Year. I think you guys have made it a big thing…. we played against each other in two numerous last year and the year before in the March Madness tournament, so we’re just trying to do whatever it takes to win; that’s what’s important right now.” Reese said.
Reese’s response caught the attention of several basketball fans, who began sharing their thoughts in the comments section of the post on X (formerly known as Twitter). Many fans started joking about Reese while mentioning that Clark is the top candidate for the Rookie of the Year award.
One fan said, “She’s jus sayin that cuz she knows she’s not winning.”
Meanwhile, another fan joked, “She sure cares.”
Another fan said, “Easy to say now that it’s more clear than ever. Clark >”
Another fan said, “She doesn’t care because she knows that she has no chance to win it.”
Clark Echoes Reese’s Take On Rookie Of The Year
Clark amazed everyone in the crowd with her stellar performance, leading the Fever to a 100-81 victory against the Sky. The 22-year-old showcased exceptional skills by scoring 31 points, making 12 assists, and grabbing four rebounds in her 32 minutes of play.
On the other hand, Reese scored 10 points, had two assists, and secured 11 rebounds. However, before the game, Clark responded similarly when asked about the Rookie of the Year award in an interview.
“I think me and Angel would both give you the same answer. You don’t wake up and think about individual awards. I know that’s what all of you think we do… That’s what everybody wants to make this about. Both of our teams are competing for playoff spots. That’s our main focus. That’s a selfish thing to just care about an individual award.” Clark said.
The debate over who should receive Rookie of the Year honors will continue despite Clark and Reese sharing the same opinion, and it will be interesting to see who comes out on top.
