Madonna confirms her biopic is in the works again after being scrapped

Madonna has confirmed that her biopic ‘Who’s That Girl’ is officially moving forward.

The much awaited Madonna’s biopic is finally back on the track. The project has been in the works for a long time.

The film, which is set to chronicle the singer’s long and illustrious career, was initially announced by Universal Pictures but was scrapped in January 2023.

Now the pop star herself has confirmed that the biopic project is back in development again.

In a recent Instagram post, Madonna shared a series of photos showing her working at a typewriter, surrounded by papers.

One of the images reveals a possible title, “Who’s That Girl,” referencing her 1987 song and film, on the first page of what appears to be a script.

The pop singer captioned the post, “I need a lot of Bandz to make this……OKAY. (Story of my life.)”

Madonna was originally set to write and direct the biopic with Julia Garner playing the legendary singer before it was stalled due to script issues.

Many drafts of the biopic’s script were over 180 pages long. There were discussions about splitting the movie into two parts or turning it into a miniseries, but those ideas never materialized.

It’s not yet certain whether Madonna is still attached to the project as a director, nor is there any official confirmation regarding the cast.
