Trevor Lawrence is just having an all-around lousy week.
The Jacksonville Jaguars placed the star quarterback on injured reserve after he was knocked unconscious and suffered a concussion after a dirty hit from Houston Texans linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair, who has since been suspended for three games.
Just when you thought things couldn’t possibly get any worse, the Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback needs to have surgery.
It has nothing to do with the head injury he suffered.
NFL insider Ian Rapoport reports that Trevor Lawrence is now slated to undergo surgery on his shoulder, which will end his 2024 campaign. Placing him on IR still had the door open for the dynamic quarterback to return in Week 18 to face the Indianapolis Colts, but now that has been shut.

Lawrence initially injured his shoulder in Week 9 against the Philadelphia Eagles and missed two games before he was finally able to return this past Sunday, although it did not last for two quarters before Texans linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair hit him.
The hit incited a brief but intense melee between the two teams.
Trevor Lawrence Has A Disappointing End To His 2024 Campaign
Lawrence’s fourth NFL season ended after a disappointing 2-10 start. It’s the second year in a row Lawrence has injured his shoulder.
The Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback needs to have surgery to fix up an AC joint injury that he has in his left shoulder.
Before that announcement, he had already been placed on injured reserve, which kept him out for four games, but now, his season is truly over.
Trevor Lawrence threw for 2,045 yards and 11 touchdowns with seven interceptions and completed 60.6% of his passes in 10 games.
He had just signed a five-year contract extension worth $265 million in June. The deal also included a $37.5 million signing bonus and $142 million fully guaranteed.
