Boxer Imane Khelif wins Olympic Gold

Algerian female Welterweight boxer Imane Khelif has gone through hell and back after suffering some of the most extreme discrimination against her probably in sports history. Born a biological woman, Khelif always struggled due to a genetic disorder she has that hasn’t allowed her to freely compete against other women in the sport she loves the most. In 2023, she wasn’t allowed to compete in the boxing world championships for allegedly presenting XY chromosomes. But the reality is that Imane Khelif was born a woman and she was grossly attacked by ignorant people who are politically charged in this day and age. Despite what she suffered after that fight against Italian boxer Angela Carini, Khelif managed to pick herself back up and get to the welterweight women’s boxing final.

Khelif defeats China’s Yang Liu for the Gold

Imane Khelif was finaly able to fight for Olympic Gold and she dominated Chinese boxer Yang Liu in the final. The event took place at the mythical Rolland Garros stadium with Khelif rocking Liu in a number of occassions as the crowd cheered for her to win. Before the Olympics even started, everybody knew Imane Khelif would be the heavy favorite to win the event. Her pre-fight odds to win Gold were 1/8. As a result, she won every single round in the final and her celebration was pretty over the top as her coaches carried her.

You can imagine how triggered are those who to this day keep misgendering Khelif despite the evidence. They are now claiming that having those XY chromosomes makes it unfair for her to compete against women with XX chromosomes. However, the Olympic Games‘ history has countless cases of other women who also have XY chromosomes and they have won Olympic Medals as well. Nobody said anything about those examples. In countries like Mexico Alone, there is the case of Ana Gabriela Guevara and Soraya Jimenez with the same condition.
