Cam Newton shared a heartbreaking story about his former team avoiding his legacy, despite his status as the greatest quarterback in Carolina Panthers history.

The Panthers drafted Cam Newton first overall in 2011. The 2015 league MVP led them to four playoff appearances, three NFC South division crowns (2013-15) and a trip to Super Bowl 50.

After a one-year stint with the New England Patriots in 2020, Newton returned to the QB-needy Panthers late in the 2021 season. He lost all five starts, and despite never officially retiring, hasn’t been signed by another NFL team ever since.

The Panthers have hardly acknowledged Cam Newton since he last played in 2021, which is odd considering all he did for the franchise. And it’s not like he was bitter about them refusing to re-sign him after the 2021 campaign.

During the latest episode of his “4th&1” show, Newton explained why the Panthers have mostly avoided him in his post-playing days.

Newton revealed that he wasn’t invited to Munich, Germany for the Panthers-New York Giants games on Sunday. Ex-Panthers stars Steve Smith Sr. and Luke Kuechl were among the players who attended the festivities.

Newton’s son also noticed that there aren’t photos of him at Bank of America Stadium. The former Pro Bowler said that the Panthers aren’t honoring his legacy because he’s “not retired yet.”

The former MVP said he’ll never officially retire, then added that he’d like a reunion-type event with the 2015 Panthers, adding that it could be a way of “passing the torch” to Bryce Young.

Greg Olsen Is On Board With Cam Newton’s Idea For A Reunion

After Newton’s new episode came out, Greg Olsen took to X/Twitter and gave the idea a green light. Newton’s former star teammate said to, “Name the place and time,” and that e’ll attend.

It’s long overdue for the Panthers to honor Newton and show their appreciation for his contributions to the franchise. After all, the team has been stuck in turmoil since his last season as their full-time starter in 2018.

A photo of a female hockey fan who was busting out of her jeans at a Leafs-Devils game in early 2024 has gone viral online again.

Said supporter was pictured in the stands wearing a Devils Jack Hughes jersey, but that was probably the least interesting thing about her as a lower body part caused her to trend on X.

A new set of photos of her showing her assets off has popped up online ahead of the weekend, with one of the accounts posting asking, “Are you a hockey fan?”
