Barstool Sports owner Dave Portnoy is in the hole for a whopping $300,000 after betting on the Baltimore Ravens and losing by a fraction of an inch.

El Presidente, as he’s also known, put the aforementioned sum down on the Ravens ahead of their NFL kickoff game against the Kansas City Chiefs on Thursday night. He stood to win a cool $690,000 on +130 odds (inclusive of his stake) but walked away empty-handed after the 27-20 loss.

Lamar Jackson had an opportunity to pull off a game-tying drive, and the Ravens were ready to go for two after Isaiah Likely hauled in a touchdown as time expired. However, the review showed that the tip of the tight end’s foot was on the line.

Portnoy and his gang were already in celebratory mode after the timely catch, but he would soon learn that there would be no earnings on the night as the score was scrubbed off, with officials determining that Likely did not have both feet inside when he landed.

The Barstool president dejectedly walked away after realizing his fate.

Dave Portnoy Had To Resort To His Stress Management App After His Heartbreaking Loss

Dave Portnoy later got on X/Twitter to lament his loss.

“Thank god for the Calm App on nights like these,” he wrote as the caption to a still of Isaiah Likely’s foot on the line.

“I haven’t even attempted to begin the process of sleeping yet,” he wrote in another tweet.

“I get pissed losing $100 I can’t imagine $300k 😂,” a user joked.

“Are you finally realizing you have a gambling problem?” another asked.

Portnoy will have plenty of chances to make his money back – or lose even more – as the games will be coming thick and fast for the next six months.

One of the most anticipated match-ups in week one is in Brazil this weekend, and Jordan Love and the Green Bay Packers are slated to face off against Jalen Hurts and the Philadelphia Eagles.

While it may be some of these players’ first time in the country, sadly, they won’t be able to explore all the landmarks the place has to offer. According to one report, the players have been told not to leave their hotel rooms.

Along with essentially getting a shelter-in-place order, the players were also advised to refrain from responding to suspicious text messages on their phones and not to invite their families on the trip.
