The Philadelphia Eagles will play the Green Bay Packers in the NFL’s first-ever Brazil game this Friday, but players might not be looking forward to it.

At least one Eagles player has expressed his disappointment at having to open the season in Brazil.

Cornerback Darius Slay has criticized the league for sending him to the South American country, given its high crime rate. He also revealed that players have been warned to remain in their hotels, which he plans to do.

“I do not want to go to Brazil. You want to know why? I’m going to tell you why,” he said. “They already told us not to leave the hotel. They told us we can’t do too much going on, because the crime rate is crazy. I’m like ‘NFL, why would you want to send us somewhere with a crime rate this high?”

The star CB also claims to have told his family not to join him in Brazil.

Philadelphia Eagles & Packers Players Have Been Handed A List

The country has one of the highest crime rates in South America, so the NFL will take every precaution to ensure that everyone stays safe.

According to Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated, the league’s security team has advised players to remain in their hotels and has also given them a list of things they should and should not do while there.

Of course, Brazil has hosted some of the biggest sporting events in the world such as the World Cup and the Summer Olympics, so one NFL game shouldn’t be a huge deal in that regard.

Hopefully everything goes well and everyone gets back safely.

Taylor Swift’s status for the Kansas City Chiefs’ season opener against the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday night has been revealed.

Chiefs superstar tight end Travis Kelce has been in a relationship with Taylor Swift for roughly a year now. Swift attended 13 Chiefs games in 2023, including every playoff game and their victory over the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl 58.

According to a report from Bob Williams and Steve Brenner of The U.S. Sun, the Grammy Award-winning singer will indeed be in attendance for the Chiefs’ season opener at Arrowhead Stadium.

Here’s what a source close to Taylor Swift told the outlet:

“She wouldn’t miss it for anything in the world. After the long Euro part of the tour, where Travis was able to come show up and spend time with her when he could, she wants to show him that she supports him.”

Swift essentially confirmed her relationship with Kelce last year when she attended the Chiefs’ Week 3 home game against the Chicago Bears. A week later, she was at MetLife Stadium for the Chiefs’ “Sunday Night Football” road game against the New York Jets.

Taylor Swift had a concert in Tokyo the night before Super Bowl 58 took place in Las Vegas. She performed her show and then rushed back to the United States, landing in plenty of time before the big game.

The Chiefs defeated the 49ers in overtime to complete the repeat, becoming the first team to hit that feat since the 2003 and ’04 New England Patriots. Up next, Kansas City will try to become the first team in NFL history to win three straight Super Bowls.

Chiefs vs. Ravens Meet In AFC Championship Game Rematch

The Ravens and Chiefs will square off in a can’t-miss rematch of last season’s AFC title game, which Kansas City won 17-10 to end Lamar Jackson’s second MVP-winning season.

Patrick Mahomes owns a 4-1 record against Jackson, with the only loss coming in Week 2 of the 2021 season. The three-time Super Bowl champion is 2-0 at home against Baltimore, with victories at Arrowhead in the 2018 and 2019 seasons.
