Just when you thought the year couldn’t get worse for Bryce Young, he is now finding out that a former flame has taken her talents to the NBA.

The Carolina Panthers quarterback now has to deal with life from the sidelines after his team benched him this week following another disastrous performance that dropped the team to 0-2.

Panthers head coach Dave Canales said he made the decision to bench Bryce Young after watching film of his performance from Week Two.

“This was something that after I watched the film, I looked at it, had a thought, started talking to the guys that we make decisions with,” Canales told reporters. “Certainly a lot of parties involved there. Ultimately this comes on me, and my No. 1 responsibility is to help the Panthers this win, and this move I believe puts us in the best chance to do that this week.”

To further kick dirt on him right now, his ex-girlfriend, Myra Gordon, seems to be in a relationship with Philadelphia 76ers star Tyrese Maxey.

Both Gordon and Maxey were spotted at Lincoln Financial Field together at the Falcons-Eagles game this past Monday night.

Judging by the comments, she is dead set on ending up with an athlete.

“Her roster is crazyyy Shedeur Sanders, Bryce Young now Tyrese Maxey,” one person commented.

She is more than just Bryce Young’s ex-girlfriend. The athlete played basketball for Alabama before taking her talents to Pepperdine.

During the 2023-2024 season, she averaged 7.9 points per game while adding 3.6 rebounds, and 1.6 assists, per her stats on ESPN.

It was a tough year for Pepperdine, as they went 5-25 and finished 9th in the 2023-24 WCC Standings.

Bryce Young Is In Danger Of Being Labeled A Bust

The Carolina Panthers raised eyebrows across the NFL this week when they announced that they benched 2023 first-round pick Bryce Young for veteran Andy Dalton.

The former Alabama star looked like he had the potential to be a high-quality starter, but he has not shown that, throwing just 11 touchdowns in 18 games.

Two games into his second season, and nothing has gotten better. He did not throw a touchdown and had three interceptions.

Given the massive haul the Panthers gave to move up to No. 1 to get Young, this may be one of the biggest mistakes in franchise history.

Recently, it was announced that the Carolina Panthers would be benching former first-overall pick Bryce Young in favor of Andy Dalton. This comes after Young and the Panthers started the season 0-2, with both losses being by a wide margin.

Of course, it’s not the start to his career that Young or fans had envisioned, and it’s a bit of a disappointment. That disappointment can be seen in Young in a video of him walking to practice.

However, many feel bad for Young and don’t think the poor start to the season is necessarily all his fault.

Damn. He just looks defeated. Can’t help but feel sorry for him and hope he gets better,” said one comment.

“I hope he goes somewhere else and finds success. I’m saying this as a Panther fan. Get out of Tepperville and shine somewhere else,” said another.

“Head up bro you’re the future. The path is always tricky but ultimately you are the answer. Learn from the vet and you’ll return to command the team in no time,” continued a third.

So far in 2024, Young has completed 31 of 59 passes for 245 yards, three interceptions, and zero touchdowns, earning a 9.1 passer rating.

Maybe some time on the bench will help put things into perspective for him, and he can come back playing better.

The Panthers Gave Up A Haul For Bryce Young

When the Panthers traded for the No. 1 pick to get Young in 2023, many criticized how much they gave up, and things haven’t started to look better.

In return for Young, the Bears received D.J. Moore and future picks they used on offensive tackle Darnell Wright, cornerback Tyrique Stevenson, and Caleb Williams while still having a 2025 second-round pick.

If Young doesn’t improve quickly, this could become one of the worst trades of all time.
