His response wasn’t tekan well by the United States Men’s National Basketball Team. On Saturday, they won the Olympic Gold Medal after beating France with a stellar performance from Stephen Curry. When talking about these differences, Schroeder said: “European basketball is no entertainment, it’s straight IQbasketball. Straight coaching.”

One of the players who took Dennis Schroeder’s words personal was Kevin Durant, naturally. He responded in the most Kevin Durant way you can think of. KD posted a picture of all players holding their Olympic Gold Medal with the following caption: “Entertainment & IQ.” A direct message for Schroeder, whose words clearly resonated with him and they weren’t taken in the best way. You try to insult the NBA players like that, the winningnest nation in basketball history and you will get burned. Right now, there is no other nation that even comes close to what the United States has produced in the sport’s history.

In terms of numbers, Durant became the highest-scoring basketball player for both men and women in Olympic Games history. He won the Gold Medal with the US for the fourth time in history, Durant also made history by doing that. Schroeder should’ve known better when he decided to say that statement, especially with an NBA star as petty as Kevin Durant who was clearly waiting for this moment to respond.
