Kansas City Chiefs Place Another Star Wide Receiver On Injured Reserve Just One Day After Trading For DeAndre Hopkins

On Thursday, the Kansas City Chiefs announced they would place wide receiver Skyy Moore on the injured reserve list because of a core muscle injury.

This is just the latest devastating injury to the receiver room in Kansas City after the Chiefs have already lost Rashee RIce and Hollywood Brown to season-ending injuries.

The move also could have been a part of the Chiefs needing to clear up a roster spot for newly acquired wide receiver Deandre Hopkins, who got him for a conditional fourth-round pick.

Things are starting to look bleak for the team because, as of Thursday morning, the only wide receivers not questionable or ruled out for Sunday’s game against the Raiders are Xavier Worthy, Justin Watson, and Mecole Hardman.

JuJu Smith has already been ruled out because of a hamstring injury, and Hopkins is currently considered questionable due to problems with his lower leg.

Despite this and Patrick Mahomes not playing up to his usual MVP standards, Kansas City has the best record in the NFL at 6-0 and a top-tier defense that looks to go toe to toe with any offense.

Skyy Moore Was Having A Poor Season

It could be believed that Moore was not injured and that the Chiefs just made this move to clear up a roster spot because of Moore’s poor performance this season.

He has appeared in all six games this year and has yet to record any catches, yards, or touchdowns.

In four of the six games this year, he hasn’t even been targeted, with his most coming against the Chargers in Week 3 when the ball was thrown to him twice. Other than that, he only has one more target all season.
