Brittney Griner is genuinely making her way back, and we are not talking about her game.

The Phoenix Mercury star has been looking different ever since she returned from a Russian prison with her dreadlocks cut off.

She has been growing her back ever since.

Now, it has led Brittney Griner to this moment after the Phoenix Mercury posted a photo of Griner rocking a new hairstyle during practice.

She has gone away from her curly hairstyle and starting to transition to her previous locs hairstyle.

Fans absolutely love it:

After being released from prison, Brittney Griner returned to the basketball court in time for the 2023 WNBA season.

Brittney Griner Previously Revealed She Had to Get Permission to Cut Her Hair in Prison

Brittney Griner’s decision to cut her hair while in a Russian prison was a matter of life and death.

Ahead of her sentence, which came after she was detained in a Russian airport for possessing grams of hash oil, fans knew Griner for her signature dreadlocks, which fell past her shoulders.

Griner began growing out her locs while attending Baylor University in Texas, but that ended in Russia.

“At IK-2, they froze together. My iced locs started molding beneath that wrap. They took three days to dry after I showered. During exercise on frigid mornings, I could literally feel a head cold coming on,” Griner wrote in her new book, Coming Home, per an excerpt obtained by TIME.

Unfortunately, due to her Russian confinement, her locs “had to go.” Griner wrote.

Fans of Brittany Griner were shocked to see her transformation when she was released in December 2022 in a prisoner exchange with the United States for arms dealer Viktor Bout.

One of the most anticipated match-ups in week one is in Brazil this weekend, and Jordan Love and the Green Bay Packers are slated to face off against Jalen Hurts and the Philadelphia Eagles.

While it may be some of these players’ first time in the country, sadly, they won’t be able to explore all the landmarks the place has to offer. According to one report, the players have been told not to leave their hotel rooms.

Along with essentially getting a shelter-in-place order, the players were also advised to refrain from responding to suspicious text messages on their phones and not to invite their families on the trip.
