San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Ricky Pearsall had a rough experience on the weekend, having sustained injuries during an attempted robbery on Saturday afternoon.

The rookie had been at an autograph-signing event when a would-be robber made a play to rid him of his Rolex watch. He suffered a gunshot wound to the chest during the struggle that ensued, but it was announced that he was stable in hospital a few hours later.

Pearsall has since been discharged. However, according to Police Sargent Joelle Harrell, who was one of the first responders on the scene at Union Square, he was not confident he would make it during the immediate aftermath.

The officer told Good Morning America the player was fearful he might die as she tried keeping him calm while administering aid.

“I said, ‘I want you to listen to me. I know you don’t know me, but please trust me. God is with us. It’s not your time,’” she claimed to have told him.

Harrell recalled having used her right hand to put pressure on the wound before medical professionals took over.

“He [asked], ‘Am I going to die?’ And I told him, ‘Remember you’re going to be okay. You’re strong right?’” she continued. “[Because] I had told him out there, ‘Be strong like you are on the field.’”

Quick Response Time Allowed Police TO Capture Ricky Pearsall’s Shooter

A 17-year-old has been arrested in connection with the shooting and was still on the scene when police arrived, having also sustained injuries after approaching Pearsall with a gun. They were both taken to the hospital.

According to San Francisco Police Department Chief William Scott, he may have gotten away had police not arrived as quickly as they did.

“Response time matters and the fact that [officers] were there within a minute — if it had been a seven or eight minute response time, that person likely would’ve got away,” Scott said. “And as tragic as this incident is, I really hope that it doesn’t overshadow the tremendous amount of progress that we’ve made this year reducing crime.”

Taylor Swift’s status for the Kansas City Chiefs’ season opener against the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday night has been revealed.

Chiefs superstar tight end Travis Kelce has been in a relationship with Taylor Swift for roughly a year now. Swift attended 13 Chiefs games in 2023, including every playoff game and their victory over the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl 58.

According to a report from Bob Williams and Steve Brenner of The U.S. Sun, the Grammy Award-winning singer will indeed be in attendance for the Chiefs’ season opener at Arrowhead Stadium.

Here’s what a source close to Taylor Swift told the outlet:

“She wouldn’t miss it for anything in the world. After the long Euro part of the tour, where Travis was able to come show up and spend time with her when he could, she wants to show him that she supports him.”

Swift essentially confirmed her relationship with Kelce last year when she attended the Chiefs’ Week 3 home game against the Chicago Bears. A week later, she was at MetLife Stadium for the Chiefs’ “Sunday Night Football” road game against the New York Jets.

Taylor Swift had a concert in Tokyo the night before Super Bowl 58 took place in Las Vegas. She performed her show and then rushed back to the United States, landing in plenty of time before the big game.

The Chiefs defeated the 49ers in overtime to complete the repeat, becoming the first team to hit that feat since the 2003 and ’04 New England Patriots. Up next, Kansas City will try to become the first team in NFL history to win three straight Super Bowls.

Chiefs vs. Ravens Meet In AFC Championship Game Rematch

The Ravens and Chiefs will square off in a can’t-miss rematch of last season’s AFC title game, which Kansas City won 17-10 to end Lamar Jackson’s second MVP-winning season.

Patrick Mahomes owns a 4-1 record against Jackson, with the only loss coming in Week 2 of the 2021 season. The three-time Super Bowl champion is 2-0 at home against Baltimore, with victories at Arrowhead in the 2018 and 2019 seasons.
