The Kansas City Chiefs superfan received a stiff prison sentence this Thursday after admitting to a string of armed robberies across multiple states to fund his attendance at games.
According to KMBC, Babudar has been sentenced to 17-and-a-half years in prison after attempting or pulling off bank robberies in states such as Iowa, Nebraska, Tennessee, Minnesota, and Oklahoma. He admitted to ridding the banks of over $800,000.
The popular Chiefs fan pleaded not guilty to 19 charges in 2023, including armed robbery, bank theft, money laundering, and transporting stolen property. He was previously arrested for a robbery in Oklahoma and was released on bond with GPS monitoring before cutting his monitor off last March and going on the run.
He committed several more robberies before the FBI caught up to him in July.

Prosecutors were seeking a 20-year sentence for the convicted bank robber, but his lawyers tried to get him half of that, pointing out that he took responsibility and citing gambling addiction.
As it turns out, Babudar found out how long he would be in jail on Thursday morning, hours before the Chiefs are scheduled to play the Baltimore Ravens in their home opener.
He was handed concurrent sentences of 210 months and 87 months. He will also spend three years on supervised release after leaving prison, while he has been ordered to pay $600,000 in restitution.
