The 59-year-old was live on-air when her yellow sundress split at her waist during Tuesday’s episode of the Today show.
However, she quickly recovered from the faux-pas after a member of her crew expertly secured the stitching with a stapler so that the rip was barely visible.
In an Instagram video posted by Hoda, she documented how one of the show’s producers Kaitlyn Vickery “came to the rescue” and side-stepped a last-minute outfit change.
The clip shows Hoda readjusting the dress’ matching belt before high-fiving Kaitlyn as she declares, “Done. Kaitlyn to the rescue!”

She captioned her post, “Wardrobe malfunction— nothing that a stapler cant fix!”
Fans praised the “relentlessly cool” and “iconic” daytime TV presenter in the comment section, with one person writing, “She is the real deal. Love her spirit.”
Others shared how they used the modest stapler to solve similar problems in their own professional lives.

“I saw a Reel the other day that you are supposed to cut the belt loops for a better look….havent [sic] done it to a single item yet but this video made me remember it,” another user shared.
“My junior prom my friends mom Scotch taped my dress,” a third comment read. “It was long in the back and short in front, think Madonna.
“My heel got caught in [the] back getting out of [a] limo for pics. It worked and no one knew, til I wanted them to know [laughing emoji].”
This isn’t the first time Hoda has suffered a malfunction while presenting the Today show.
During a special Fourth of July episode with Jenna Bush Hager, Hoda was left fidgeting with her undergarments as she declared “this outfit doesn’t work” amid fits of laughter.
HODA IN PARIS
Hoda is documenting her time in Paris on Instagram for her 2.5 million followers, including her first time meeting Tom Cruise at the Olympics opening ceremony on Friday.
“Do you know when you dream of meeting Tom Cruise…. And then it finally happens,” Hoda captioned a rain-soaked selfie with Tom, 62.
Hoda and Savannah told fans it was “a moment that none of us will forget” during Monday’s episode of the Today show.
Savannah recalled that it was approaching midnight when the ceremony ended and everything was “soaking wet.”
“We all went and sat down. Hoda’s gone. We’re like, ‘Where did Hoda go?’” she continued. “[Hoda] comes back [and] she’s like guys, I got the shot.”

In the picture, Hoda was wearing a white poncho to stay dry while the Top Gun actor was drenched.
“She got the shot,” Savannah added. “Soaking wet Tom Cruise and Hoda in her poncho.”
